Shidan Gouran founded Home Jinni Inc., the developers of ConnecTV(TM), the first and most feature rich Android based Social TV, Smart TV, DTV and Home Media Center platform which can be embedded directly in TV Sets and Blu-ray players. ConnecTV(TM) has been developed for use on the MIPS Android Operating system and runs on all chipsets that support MIPS Android. ConnecTV also complements and enhances other Android based Smart TV platforms such as Google TV. Included as part of ConnecTV(TM) is the first Skype and IMS RCS videoconferencing client that runs on virtually all MIPS based set-top box platforms.
Home Jinni is a third party core contributor to Google’s Android project, with focus on optimizing core components of Android, such as the V8 Javascript engine, for the MIPS architecture and is one of the largest contributors to the MIPS Android open source initiative.
Home Jinni, has also developed a Television headend Cloud CMS solution for providers called “ConnecTV Cloud” (TM) which integrates OTT, DTV and Social TV into a unified and hybrid program.
Shidan Gouran co-founded Jazinga. As the CTO, he led both the product and technical development. He conceived of the idea after realizing that no IP based phone systems were aiming to bring unified communications to small businesses and that much of the difficulty of integrating UC into small businesses could be automated. Together with his partner from Nuovotel Corp, Nabeel Jafferali, they received funding from Brightspark Ventures. Currently, Jazinga is one of only two small office phone systems sold in the Skype Store and has won numerous industry awards.
In partnership with leading industry analyst John Arnold and Technology Marketing Corp, developers of the world’s leading telecommunications industry web portal and trade show, Gulf Pearl Ltd. founded and developed both the Smart Grid Summit and the Smart Grid Web Portal with the vision of integrating the worlds of telecom, IT and energy into the Smart Grid opportunity
